  • Comfort reading an EOB/ERA and recognising CARC and RARC codes

Full AR Follow-Up Specialist job description

Work denials every day, write appeals that win, and trace each denial back to the step that caused it so it doesn't come back next month.

What you'll do

  • Correct and resubmit claims for front-end and coding errors
  • Write first- and second-level appeals with supporting records and payer policy citations

Why work in medical billing at CredSpun

Most billing jobs are one step on a production line: post payments all day, or call payers all day, without ever seeing what happened to the claim before or after. We organise differently. Each practice has a named account lead and a small team that knows its payers, its fee schedule and its denial patterns, and fixes problems at the stage that caused them.

That means the work is more varied and the results are visible. You will see a practice's clean claim rate go up and its days in AR come down because of something you changed.

What every role has in common

  • Fully remote, work from home, for applicants living in the United States
  • U.S. business hours, working alongside a named account team
  • Work inside each client's own EHR and practice management system — athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Tebra / Kareo, AdvancedMD, SimplePractice, DrChrono, TherapyNotes, Open Dental and others
  • HIPAA training at onboarding, and every login tied to you by name
  • Outpatient specialties: primary care, behavioral health, psychiatry, nurse practitioners, pediatrics and dental

Questions

What candidates ask before applying.

Are all roles remote?

Yes. Every open role is fully remote, work from home, within the United States. You need a reliable internet connection and a quiet, private workspace, since you will handle patient health information.

What does the hiring process look like?

A short screening call, a skills conversation with the team lead for the role, and a practical exercise based on real, de-identified claims or files — for example reading an EOB, coding a sample note or prioritising an aging report. Most candidates hear back at each step within 5 business days.

Do I need a certification to apply?

Coding roles require a CPC, CCS or equivalent. For billing, AR and credentialing roles, certifications such as CPB, CRCR or CPCS help, but hands-on experience matters more.

What hours will I work?

Roles follow a set schedule during U.S. business hours, so you can reach payers and practices while they are open.

What equipment do I need to work from home?

A computer that runs a current browser well, a second monitor, a reliable broadband connection, a headset for payer and patient calls, and a private space where nobody else can see patient information on your screen.

Is there training for new hires?

Yes. You start with onboarding on our workflows, HIPAA and security practices, and the client systems you will work in, alongside a teammate before taking your own book. Every login is tied to you by name and access is limited to the work you do.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes. Submit a separate application for each role, or send a general application and we will match you to the best fit. We keep strong applications on file and contact you when a matching role opens.

Tell us where the money is stuck.

Send your aging summary and denial reasons. You get the findings in writing, including what you can fix without us.
